PRAYER BULLETIN FOR MONDAY 7TH - SATURDAY 12TH MAY 2018
GROWING IN THE
KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST
I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could
know Christ personally, experience His resurrection power, be a partner in His
suffering, and go all the way with Him to death itself. Philippians 3:10 (The Message Bible).
Knowledge has been defined as a justified true
belief. When what we believe has evidence to prove its validity, then knowledge
could be said to have been gained. It is not enough to pledge allegiance to a
particular denomination or church body when Christ is not known.
The basic problem plaguing the body of Christ
today is hypocrisy. Most of us claim to have known Him whereas He is not in the
picture and as a result, by the time you
ought to be teachers yourselves, you find someone to sit down with you to go
over the basics on God again – starting from square one and are become such as
have need of milk and not of strong meat (Hebrew 5:12).
Knowing Him is a process thing that emanates
from being born again to a day-to-day walk with the Holy Spirit. Jesus expects
every believer to grow to the level where he can teach others and to grow in
grace and knowledge of Christ (2 Peter 3:18). By so doing, the believer will
not remain a spiritual babe who is unskillful in the WORD just as Paul
encouraged believers to be “rooted and built up in Him” (Colosians 2:7).
This week there is a call for a deeper
fellowship with the Holy Spirit who is the source of nutrients for every believer
who desires to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. As you pray these
prayer points for spiritual growth, the Holy Spirit will draw you into a deeper
and fulfilling relationship with Christ in Jesus name, Amen.
